Gerber HFR-M (Hands Free Recon) Flashlight

Here's a great little innovation from Gerber at Shot Show 2011. Their take on the helmet mounted light. These style of lights are perfect for combat operations when a low light level is needed.

Simple operation. Power button is on top, simply twist the head to adjust the light color you want. Light colors include: Infrared, white, red and NVIS. The HFR is about 3 inches tall has an output of 59 lumens, weighs around 4 ounces and can use AA or CR123 batteries.

The HFR-M of course attaches to helmets as well as MOLLE-compatible vests and can be pulled off the helmet mount for hand-held use while keeping your helmet on.

Magnum MultiCam Boots

Here at Shot Show 2011 in Vegas we spotted the new MultiCam Boots from Magnum. See all the photos here.

Both the Sidewinder and the Spider's MultiCam coloration feature the pattern over the entire boot, not just patches of fabric embedded in a traditional leather boot.

The ion-mask™ feature of these boots isn't to be confused with waterproofing in the traditional sense. Rather, the hydrophobic ion-mask™ is a feature that waterproofs the materials of the boot, but not necessarily the boot itself. This means that if you typically work in an environment that is bound to get water in your boot, the boot won't absorb any moisture and will quickly drain. Since the materials cannot absorb moisture a simple sock change and shake of the boot will get you back moving with dry feet. If you don't have time to change socks, the vents, especially in the Spider, will allow the bulk of the water to drain and your foot to breathe.

Under Armour Speed Freak Boot

See more of the Speed Freak here.

UA Tactical is launching three new boots this year: the ultra-lightweight Valsetz, the all-season hiker, called the Speed Freak and a taller, all leather model called the Breach. The Speed Freak is what caught our eye, so we thought we'd tell you a little bit about it.

First off, this is an all season, all terrain boot. It uses a durable, Nubuck leather that will stand up to the bumps and bruises of a rugged, rocky environment. It uses a full Gore-Tex liner for complete waterproof protection as well as breathability. This boot was designed by Under Armour, but was wear tested by troops at Fort Bragg, so feedback from the end user was taken into consideration for the final product.
This Speed Freak is obviously MultiCam, but an all Black model will also be available. Both will be ready for sale at www.uscav.com in late June mid August.

"So far I have just seen the first video and I feel like I have already got my money's worth. If the other two videos are half as good as the first I will still be impressed. Great filmigraphy, great sound/music, and most importantly, great instruction. BTW, I am a novice so you can pretty much disregard anything I say if you are looking for a pro's opinion. I'm pretty sure that professionals would be able to learn a lot from this video as well though."
